What is a
Christian Ethic?
An ethic is a set of principles and beliefs that guide a way of life.
The Christian Ethic is led by the library of scripture, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and guided by local church government.
What is
Exp’s Christian Ethic?
At Experience we aspire to be biblically faithful in our modern times of so much rapid change to our post Christian social infrastructure and culture. We stand under the word not over the word. We submit to the authority of the word of God and let the word build our worldview. We believe in grace and truth held together and not apart.
We do our best to keep silent where the scripture is silent and to let God speak through His written word to all of the issues of life including but not limited to…
Health + Body + Abortion
Family + Marriage + Divorce
Gender + Sexuality
Money + Provision
Alcohol + Cannabis
Sin + Redemption + Church Discipline
Life + Death + Time
Holiness + The Trinity
Our prayer is that you would be biblically educated and informed. We invite questions and conversations. Our Christian Ethic will continue to grow and expand as the kingdom advances and our culture changes.
Health + Body + Abortion
Jesus is the prince of peace that leads us into His shalom: wholeness and fullness in mind, body, and spirit. Our bodies are a gift that belong to Him and are stewarded by us for His glory.

Family + Marriage + Divorce
Following Jesus leads us into family, deeply rich relationships that move at the speed of trust, where we are affirmed, challenged, and formed into becoming who we are born to be. The bible celebrates family without worshiping family or marriage. Singleness is a celebrated gift and calling like marriage. Divorce is a grace provision for abandonment, abuse, and infidelity. People experiencing divorce are welcomed and wanted in God’s family.
Hebrews 13:4, Romans 7:2, 1 Corinthians 7:38, Matthew 19:3-12, Ephesians 5:22-33
Sexual Formation - Gender + Sexuality
The way of Jesus calls us to key distinctives in how we relate to our sexual formation. We believe that living in the way of Jesus means embracing His vision of faithfulness in sexuality. This practically looks like abstaining from all sexual relationships outside of the historic vision of Christian marriage expressed in whole life covenant union between a man and woman, avoiding pornography, inappropriate relationships that compromise our witness, and pursuing life giving holiness by the grace of God.
We are committed to seek to understand and address the deep heart issues of identity and experience which draw some people into the LGBTQI+ practice; to reach out with love, compassion, and justice of Christ, and to reject and condemn all forms of hatred, verbal or physical abuse, and victimization of LGBTQI+ people.

Money + Provision
The teachings of Jesus make it clear the money is a horrible master and great servant. We can’t serve God and money. We are invited to trust God as our provider and serve Him and His purposes with His provision as wise stewards being worthy of being trusted with more.

Alcohol + Cannabis
The freedom we have by grace in Jesus is to be used to serve others not ourselves. The scripture gives us clear principles of wisdom on how and when to use in moderation or abstain from certain substances.

Sin + Redemption + Church Discipline
Sin is the failure to receive, trust, and give love to God, others, and self. God hates sin because it disrupts our relationship with Him and others and distorts His intended life for all. He provides redemption and forgiveness at the cross through Jesus with the intention of us growing in our new life with Him through discipleship in the context of the local church. The church is to provide and protect a safe environment for this sanctification to happen for all believers and at times requires church discipline to maintain this reality.
Romans 3:23-25, Matthew 26:28, Acts 5:31, 10:43 1 Corinthians 5:6-7, Matthew 5:13-16
Life + Death + Time
Our time here on earth is a gift from God with the privilege of walking with Him, doing His will, and bringing heaven to earth. Death is a reality for all of humanity and the bible teaches us what life beyond the grave looks like.
John 10:10, Psalm 90:10, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Hebrews 9:27, Romans 13:11-14
Holiness + The Trinity
Father, Son, and Spirit are perfectly one and distinctly beautiful in expression and function. God calls us to our full and true redeemed selves in His holiness to be like Him in mature love.
Colossians 2:9, 1 Timothy 3:16, Ephesians 1:4, 1 Peter 1:16
